Vitacress is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of Fresh Produce, specialising in Watercress, Salads and Fresh Herbs.
Vitacress is the market leader in living and cut fresh herbs in the UK. Our Runcton nursery has been operating in North Mundham for 30 years and we employ over 350 people.
At any one time, there are 3 million pots of fresh herbs growing in our 12 hectare Runcton glasshouse site. We supply 20 million pots of living herbs and 60 million packs of fresh cut and bunched herbs per year.
All Vitacress’ living pot herbs are grown in clean, food safe growing conditions with no pesticides. Vitacress have LEAF and Red Tractor accreditations and are members of SEDEX, as well as holding BRC and many retailer audit accreditations.
We also grow herbs at our UK, Spanish and Portuguese farms across 174 hectares supplying the UK Fresh Herb market 52 weeks a year.
Vitacress herbs were the first herb supplier to stop utilising black plastic packaging for our living herb pots, replacing it with 100% recyclable pots in September 2018. Vitacress’ long term goal is to make all our packaging elements more sustainable: made with either 100% recyclable or renewable materials.
Vitacress are targeting Net Zero 2040 and are continually reducing their carbon footprint: using 100% recycled irrigation, a combined heat and power (CHP) plant with 4MW capacity, active management of their surrounding wildlife habitat.
